About Workforce Development: Under the umbrella of the FEERC, the Urban Center for Talent Development and Workforce Solutions/Adult Workforce Services successfully guides adults to pathways that increase household income through career advancement, training, and employment opportunities. We work with clients to assess their skills, interests, and needs to develop a plan of action. The individualized action plans may involve continuing education, upskilling, certifications, and lifestyle adjustments. The League’s guidance doesn’t stop with implementation of the plan. Instead, we support clients for as long as necessary to ensure that they reach their goals.Â
P2E leads clients through career pathing, a process that is driven by the client’s skills and career objectives. We offer financial education, one-on-one coaching, case management, and classes including GED prep, digital literacy, and life skills to enhance job retention. In addition, we conduct mock interviews and connect clients to training in high demand fields, our employer talent bank, and hiring events. The Urban Tech Jobs Program prepares individuals for in-demand technology careers through career exploration and skill-building. Participants are introduced to high-growth tech fields, engage in workshops on emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), and receive career coaching, resume support, and job readiness training. Through our partnerships, clients can earn a certificate in areas such as IT Support, Project Management, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Digital Marketing, and more. UTJP helps to create a clear pathway to entry-level tech roles and long-term career advancement. Launch your career in the growing clean energy industry through this free six-week, in-person training program. Participants will earn industry-recognized NABCEP PV Associate and OSHA 10 certifications while gaining hands-on technical training, industry knowledge, and workforce readiness skills. Eligible participants must be 18 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or GED, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to attend all in-person and virtual training sessions. New Beginnings Adult Reentry: This comprehensive program helps returning citizens gain workforce skills, stackable credentials, on the job training, and jobs/careers within high-demand industry sectors. Supports returning citizens in Metro Atlanta (Fulton, DeKalb, Clayton, Henry Counties, and the City of Atlanta) as they reintegrate into their communities, build workforce skills, earn stackable credentials, and secure livable-wage employment—reducing the risk of recidivism. Participants pursue portable, stackable credential pathways aligned with high-demand sectors, including Construction/Building Trades, Advanced Manufacturing, Hospitality, IT, and Distribution/Logistics. Through labor-market exploration and targeted training, participants gain in-demand skills, access higher-wage jobs, and build long-term career advancement opportunities
