Six Benjamin E. Mays High School students were among 300 youth attending a National Urban League Youth Summit at Coppin State University this weekend in Baltimore, Maryland. The Atlanta students are involved in Project Ready, an Urban League college and career preparedness program. On Saturday, July 16, they participated in a Day of Service at the Urban League offices in Baltimore. Pictured from left are Kendall Pack, Brianna Brown, Roland Pack, Michael Hendrix, Devyon Johnson and Jacqueline Gibson. They worked together coloring, writing affirmations and assembling “care” packages for underprivileged youth. The packages included food, school supplies, personal items, and socks and other clothing. Community service is a key component of Project Ready.
