Grant Accountant

Position: Grant Accountant

Reports To: Director of Finance

Status: Full-Time/Exempt

The Urban League of Greater Atlanta has an immediate opening for a Grant Accountant to provide financial oversight on grants. In this role, you will work directly with the Director of Finance to ensure the appropriate use and accurate reporting of all financial transactions on grants and contracts. You will be responsible for performing grant-related post-award functions, including budget and expense analysis.


  • 2-4 Years of Experience Managing Grant Revenue & Expenses
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Excellent Time Management Skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance CFR2


  • Must be able to demonstrate and communicate experience in all areas of responsibilities
  • Ability to thrive and respond upon request in a fast-paced environment.
  • Non-profit agency accounting experience is highly preferred.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the general ledger.
  • Thorough knowledge of pre-and post-award administration.
  • Knowledge of grant accounting principles and compliance with federal and state rules and regulations.
  • Skill in interpreting budgets, grants, and contracts.
  • Knowledge of electronic data processing as it applies to fiscal and accounting activities.
  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate, analytical, and organized, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Skill in communicating effectively orally and in writing.
