About The Entrepreneurship Center

The Entrepreneurship Center (TEC) was launched in Atlanta in October 2004.  TEC was designed to assist entrepreneurs with starting and growing successful and sustainable businesses in the Metro Atlanta community.  We are able to achieve our goal of cultivating successful and sustainable businesses through providing entrepreneurs with: Training Classes, Resources, and One on One Coaching Sessions.  As a result of the services we provide, entrepreneurs find themselves taking their business concept from pre-venture stage to business start-upacquiring funding to operate and grow their business; obtaining contracts to assist in growing their business; and hiring additional employees to assist with their business growth.

Programs

Program supports clients that have a business idea that needs refining and businesses that have been established for under 2-years but seeking assistance to strategize and grow beyond the current annual revenues.  

This program will assist an aspiring entrepreneur with refining their ideas while supporting the creation of a well devised business plan. The program also supports businesses that are looking for a newly revised action plan that can support business growth and increased revenues. 

This program is open to clients who have been in business for more than two years, typically generating revenues up to $250k. Clients are guided in growth capacity and strategies to increase annual earnings. Courses and counseling help business owners build capacity, revenues, and brand positioning. One course outcome is a well-defined action plan to increase sales, revenue, customer base and market expansion.  

Coaches guide clients in planning, assessment, creation of action plans and timelines, SWOT analysis, capital access education, business courses (Accounting, Back Office/HR, Marketing and Operations), expansion tactics and connection to consumers via brand strategies. Participants must be over 18 years old. 

This program supports clients who have been in business for more than two years, typically generating revenues well over $250k. Clients are guided to grow in capacity and strategies beyond their current annual revenues. Coaches help business owners become more proficient in building revenue and capacity, gaining contracts, securing procurement support, estimating/bidding, and brand positioning. A major outcome of the program is a well-structured, individualized action plan to increase sales and revenue, enhance customer base, and maximize market expansion.  

Courses and guidance are offered in business planning, assessment, action plan creation, SWOT analysis, capital access, estimating and bidding, review of business expertise (HR, Accounting, Back Office/HR, and Operations), and education/connection to procurement opportunities. Clients typically are mature business owners who have an interest in acquiring larger contracts and access to major capital. Participants must be 18 years old or older. 

This program offers courses in food safety, POS, food cost/labor, business planning, marketing, access to capital, product development and menu revision and/or support. Courses and coaches help business owners improve their strategies for evaluating opportunities, managing risk, revising menu and supply chain options, identifying and preparing for funding, and support for staff and guests.  

 Coursework and guidance are offered in planning, assessment, action plan creation, SWOT analysis, capital access assistance, marketing, a review of business expertise (HR, Accounting, Back Office/HR, and Operations), and customer service. This program is limited to food service business owners (food trucks, caterers, restaurant owners, and vendors that produce edible products).  

This program educates business owners who are interested in the import/export field. Clients learn what is involved — how it works, how to register with international agencies, compliance requirements, and what it takes to initiate contact with potential clients. Courses and coaches help clients to identify capacity building within their companies and identify a new customer base and opportunities that businesses do not know existed or are within reach.  

Courses and guidance are offered in business assessment, client creation, capital access, marketing, a review of business expertise (HR, Accounting, Back Office/HR, and Operations), and customer service. This program is created for entrepreneurs who have a product or service that can be sold or administered abroad. Participants must be willing to invest the time necessary to take advantage of opportunities and to build relationships abroad. 

This program is open to Black women in retail who want to grow their visibility and marketability in the retail space. Business owners are guided in connecting their business to supplier inclusion programs and to become multi-employee firms. The program is designed to promote the benefits of certifications and increase the number of certified businesses owned by Black women. 

Courses and coaching are offered in entrepreneurial training, leadership development, WBE/MBE certification awareness and assistance, financial empowerment, and access to capital. The program is limited to Black women entrepreneurs in the early and growth stages of their retail business. 

This program offers education, mentorship, training opportunities, and resources to increase the number of Black entrepreneurs in the appraisal industry. The course is designed to increase the pool of certified Black real estate appraisers and Black-owned real estate appraisal businesses.  

Courses and coaches introduce education, mentorship, and access to capital and increased opportunities in the appraisal industry. This program is designed for aspiring Black entrepreneurs interested in obtaining certification in the field. Participants interact with mentors and take courses in building an appraisal business. The program is open to those over 18 years old. 

This program is offered to entrepreneurs interested in learning how to gain access to capital. Participants will learn how to prepare for, apply for, and use capital when they obtain it. The typical entrepreneur for this program will be one who needs mentoring, coaching, and guidance in relationship building to help gain capital.  

Courses and coaching center on training, education, mentorship, accessing capital, and increasing opportunities for businesses. The program is designed for minority business owners who need avenues to capital and opportunities to scale their business. 

This program offers entrepreneurs pathways to new opportunities for business growth. Coursework includes information on various certifications and the processes necessary to obtain them. Information includes how to register for various federal, state, and local procurement contracts; certification and procurement; estimating and bidding; and creating and building relationships. Courses and coaching feature training, education, mentorship, business certifications, access to procurement opportunities and capital, and a roadmap to opportunities in the industry.  

The program is open to minority business owners seeking certifications and information on how to scale their firms.  Entrepreneurs will learn how to position their businesses to get contracts with government, local authorities, and entities in other countries.

Eligible entrepreneurs must be  DeKalb County business owners/residents, with more than two years of business experience and 18 years old or older. 

This program is offered to aspiring entrepreneurs who need assistance with refining an idea and creating a well-devised business plan. Entrepreneurs seeking to grow their businesses and increase revenue with a revised action plan are also eligible. The program offers a pitch contest where entrepreneurs can win $20k. Eligible contestants must reside or have business in Cobb County or possess a Cobb County Business License or a license from a city in Cobb County.  

Participants will be offered business coaching, planning, assessment, help creating an action plan, capital access education, and business education (HR/Back Office, Accounting, Marketing, and Operations). In addition, they will receive pitch coaching and the chance to receive capital in the form of a grant. Eligible entrepreneurs must be a Cobb County business owner with more than two years of business experience and 18 years old or older.
