We are committed to helping our clients raise their educational attainment and gain valuable job skills that will prepare them for jobs and careers in the 21st Century and our new economy. It is never too late to pursue the career of your dreams and “go back to school” to get the skills you need to succeed and our dedicated staff and volunteers will support you all the way to success!

We offer the following Education and Job Skills Programs:

Adult Literacy Program/GED Prep

A solid foundation is the key to success and for those who have not earned a high school diploma, now is the time to earn a GED so you can move on to the next step in your journey toward economic empowerment!

The Adult Education Resource Center represents a partnership between the Urban League of Greater Atlanta and the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Adult Literacy Program and provides ULGATL clients with instruction in the following fundamentals:

  • Reading
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies

Instruction is self paced and designed to prepare students to take and successfully pass the GED Test as an important first step to embarking on a career pathway in a high growth field. The program also offers youth and adults that possess a high school diploma the opportunity to upgrade their academic achievement levels in reading and math, thus leading to success in a community or technical college, 4-year college, job skills training or vocational school environment. The program meets students where they are and supports them to achieve their education and career goals.

The services are available to individuals 16 and older and offered year round.
