Dear Urban League Supporter,
Thank you to all the attendees of our 2016 Equal Opportunity Day Dinner and Gala held on Saturday, November 19th.
As we heard the moving stories of the four young men honored as our Men of Empowerment and Distinction, the impact of The Urban League of Greater Atlanta in helping so many was palpable. An emotional testimony from Devonte Jordan, one of our honorees, struck me as so poignant yet so simple. He said, “The Urban League provided a window of opportunity for me…a platform that would allow me to reach my fullest potential.”
As 2016 draws to a close, I am pleased to take this time to thank you for all that you do to help the Urban League extend our programs in education and training, career advancement, housing and finance, civic engagement, life skills, small business development and more to men, women and youth throughout the region.
The EOD dinner gave many people a deeper understanding of what the Urban League of Greater Atlanta means to the growth and stability of the region; and several business leaders approached me after the event to pledge their intent to begin or to increase their support. I hope I can depend on you to do the same, as we recognize the ongoing importance of leveling the playing field for our neighbors, not only because it’s the right thing to do but because all of us are better off when everyone has a chance to live up to their highest potential.
Please consider a gift to the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, today
I wish you a warm and happy holiday season and look forward to partnering with you in 2017.
